The Realms We Walk

Welcome Wary Weirdo

I’d like to say that this all started with a dream, or perhaps something more prophetic; unfortunately, I didn’t have a dream, gods didn’t speak to me, and contrary to several of your concerns, I did not get extremely high and think to myself, “How, oh how, can I make all of my friends cry at the same time?”

No, it was much, much simpler.

It started with a town that already exists, in one of the oldest mountain ranges on the planet, with some of the richest lore. Everything that came next was built brick-by-brick as the story needed, as the characters demanded, and as I thought the group would enjoy. What we have now is a world unto itself, both enmeshed in and separate from the one we live in where magic exists and has consequences.

Over the course of the last six months, I’ve taken everything we’ve built together and turned it into our own version of what started as Monster of the Week - a 2d6 system that focuses more on roleplay than being murder hobos (though there’s a fair bit of that, let’s be real). In it are the traces of a multitude of cultures, mythos, archetypes, and tropes. Not all of it is as we’ve been playing it for the last (nearly) 2 years and some elements have been stripped from this guide entirely not because they don’t or can’t exist, but to offer room for new stories or retelling of old ones.

With that all being said - let the fuckery commence.

With love and maniacal laughter,

Annie
